The SMART project emphasizes the importance of building capacity among various stakeholders to ensure the effective adoption of climate-resilient Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) practices. The project provides targeted capacity-building support and training to microenterprises and Partner Organizations to enhance their technical knowledge and operational efficiency in a climate-resilient context.
Microenterprises (MEs)
- MEs will receive technical assistance to increase their knowledge and capacity in adopting climate-resilient RECP practices.
- Training will focus on resource efficiency, environmental management, climate adaptation technologies, climate vulnerability, occupational safety and health (OHS), operational management, ecolabelling and branding, waste management, efficient use of resources, etc.
Partner Organizations (POs)
- POs will be instrumental in facilitating the training and ensuring the effective transfer of knowledge to MEs.
- Training of Trainers (TOT) will be organized for the PO officials at the grassroots so that they can enhance the capacity of the micro-entrepreneurs on ecolabelling, branding, waste management, efficient use of resources, etc.
Capacity development of PMU staff of smart
- Knowledge sessions, knowledge-exchange visit, and formal training will be organized to enhance the skills and knowledge of the PMU officials.
The capacity-building efforts under the SMART project aim to empower MEs and POs with the knowledge and tools necessary to integrate sustainability into their core business practices, thus contributing to the broader goal of green growth and climate resilience in Bangladesh.
